Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Tour

In the spring of 1933, shortly after Adolf Hitler came to power, the first concentration camp was opened in Dachau, a small suburban town just to the north-west of Munich.

What began here, led to the establishment of a network of camps covering all of occupied Europe and resulted in the internment, torture and murder of millions of innocent lives. In Dachau, the SS under Heinrich Himmler created a systematic bureaucracy which was designed not only to torture and humiliate without morals, but also to kill with the best possible efficiency. Medical experiments, forced labour, mass executions and unadulterated brutality were the tactics used in Dachau.

On this officially authorized tour of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, we will approach this dark period of history and try to understand what led to this terrible injustice. By doing this, we will not only honour those who suffered ond died, but we will attempt to learn from history for the benefit of both ourselves and futoure gererations.
